Everyone has their own philosophy on how to continually improve. My current view lately has taken me to the scene in the first Jurassic Park movie where the alpha velociraptor systematically tests the electric fences for weaknesses in an effort to escape.
There are those content with the current environment having no desire for change. There are those seeking change when the conditions are right. The moon's in the right phase, you've had a great night of sleep, and you feel energized enough to take on something more (this is where I currently live). To crave change enough that you're systematic in the way you go about seeking it...that's a new gear I haven't yet had but am feeling I need. In Jurassic Park the alpha velociraptor is most likely the one to find the weak spot in the fence and obtain the desired change.
More and more I'm wanting continuous improvement. I need to be systematically "checking the fence". The correct direction, solutions, and answers are all there. I need to be seeking them out and willing to go down dead end roads. Eventually I'll learn enough, increase my odds, and have success...at least that's what I'm telling myself today.
Happy St. Patty's Day!
